Cruise Ships

They were a size, the photograph doesn’t really demonstrate the height of them when up close.

I am joining in with continuing theme of perspective squares as posted on Beck B’s webpage …. https://beckybofwinchester.com/2020/07/15/square-perspective-15/

Yesterday I was working in my office in the morning arranging the next few weeks work and catching up with colleagues. Then in the afternoon, I went to a town called Irvinestown in Northern Ireland, it’s quite a drive from where I live. The weather was a bit crass so I didn’t get many photographs of my day at all. In other words, it rained! The jobs I went to were really a case of putting up my umbrella and running across the car park and back once I had done my thing. However, on the way home I drove through Belfast and past the docks. I noticed there were two cruise ships in for repair or refurbishment, they were docked further on down where the dockside is a bit wild and grassy so it was hard to get up close for the photographs. It was such a grey evening, they aren’t terribly bright, but fit the theme of perspective well. They were a size, the photograph doesn’t really demonstrate the height of them when up close.

The front ship is The Viking Sky, you can see more about it here ..VIKING SKY

  1. I wonder when (possibly if) they will be out at sea again. Return of sailing on a ship for a holiday seems a long way off in current times

    1. I was informed this morning that they weren’t in for repair but simply parked up due to Covid-19, makes more sense. I couldn’t imagine cruise ships could safely operate for a while.
