Feeling Blue Already

It’s not even the start of July yet, and I am feeling blue already for the squares challenge. It has been one heck of a week and I am glad it’s over.

Sol had an awful accident and now has a broken hand. She has a temporary cast on which is heavy and clunky waiting for the swelling to go down, her fingers are taped up too. She can’t pinch together so she’s awfully upset as her passion is art, and she cannot even hold a pencil let alone draw right now. She goes back to the hospital on Wednesday for them to decide what they are going to do with her broken bones as the swelling will be down by then.

As for myself I have cellulitis, it’s a horrible thing and the antibiotics don’t like me so much.

Here is Sol, feeling blue and sporting a blue sling.

The theme for July squares which begins Monday is ‘Blue‘ but hopefully you won’t feeling blue with your ears back like Septimus. Instead I am hoping you’ll be having fun over the next 31 days with squares that could;

  1. be a ‘Bolt from the Blue’ – something unexpected or surprising
  2. explore ‘Into the wide blue yonder‘ – sky, sea or maybe a location that is appealingly unknown and mysterious
  3. simply be ‘Blue – whether that’s azure, cobalt, sapphire, cerulean, navy, ultramarine, indigo, or turquoise
  4. and there is an extra challenge for those of you up for it – can you manage to combine two of these, or maybe even all three?

What you must not forget though is to keep your photograph square, and if you can do pingback with #Blue and/or #JulySquares!

  1. Poor Sol…..poor you. It will be a good lesson to try and draw with her left hand. i did that in an art class many years ago and found i can do it sort of. Hope you both are out of the blues soon Amanda x

  2. oh now what a week for you all. I have liked above, but I am liking the photo not what has happened. Sending loads of hugs to you both, and hope the week ahead is much much better and definitely a blue one of the right sort xxxxx
