We Knew The Sun would Shine

We just knew the sun would shine today. It’s a bank holiday here in the U.K., not the same as Labor Day in the USA, but still a holiday nonetheless.

I baked this morning, I already posted about that so go look for some delicious cupcakes on the previous post.

I spent the rest of the morning working on my latest crochet blanket, a corner to corner granny stitch blanket to be exact. I’m around the half way point now, that’s my favourite bit as every row from here on in gets shorter. I’m using Cygnet chunky yarn and a size 10 hook in case anyone is interested.

Sometimes we get kind of lazy when it’s a holiday day. It’s nice to have a rest, well I was supposed to be working (oops), but that will keep till tomorrow my editor won’t mind too much. We loafed around the sunroom until early afternoon. My idea of loafing around is actually doing laundry between bouts of sitting down and drinking tea. A day off for me is never truly a day off.

As the day wore on it became apparent that the temperature was soaring and the day was turning out to be really beautiful, which isn’t such a common thing for us. We debated about getting in the car and going somewhere, but I really could not be bothered hitting any bank holiday crowds and there is no where as nice as what we have on our doorstep.

We ended up decided in staying local.

This is the path to the beach from our house …

Being such a nice day our usually deserted beach was not so deserted.

We opted to go for a walk along the coast on a much quieter path that we know. Other half had never really paid it any attention before but I have walked it frequently and knew where it led. Other half was more than happy to follow as he always does what I say! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Seb wanted photos for his blog, we had a laugh trying to get some good ones. He’s getting older now and he likes to have them posed. I get a chuckle every time he posts a selfie too.

Sol is all natural, she’s not at that stage yet.

We got back from our walk around six o’clock which meant everyone was pretty hungry and they were requesting takeaway food. We rarely get takeaway, so it was a unanimous decision to have a Chinese meal. I got the aromatic duck which was a great end to the day for me. I’m not going to begin to tell you how much everyone ate, let’s just say it has been a long time since we had Chinese food.

Quiet time in our house now, they are all tired after walking so far, seems they can’t keep up with me.
